Venison Meatballs

Hi lovelies. Happy Saturday!

A few weeks ago, Ryan and I made a recipe for venison meatballs. (Confession time - I'm a vegetarian and I tried one... and then another. They're so lean and so delicious.)

1 lb. ground venison
1 egg
2 Tbs. tomato paste
1/4 onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp oregano
1/3 tsp basil
1/3 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/3 cup bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 370 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized bowl until thoroughly mixed.

Ingredients before mixing

Roll into balls approximately 2" in diameter and place on greased baking sheet. (Yields about 12 meatballs)
Bake meatballs for 20 minutes, flip, and bake for another 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and enjoy!

We paired these meatballs with spaghetti and a spicy red sauce. (The flavors in the sauce did distract from the flavor of the meatballs; next time we plan to use a more plain pasta sauce.)

The finished product

Bon App├ętit!
